What kind of camera do you use?
In earlier posts, just my iPhone sitting up against a chair and plastic container (my makeshift tripod). For my 40th birthday, my wonderful husband bought me a Canon Rebel T3i camera. It came with a kit lens (18-55mm). In addition, he bought me the 50mm f/1.8 lens as well as the 18-250mm f/4.0-5.6 lens.

Who takes your pictures?
Before I got my DSLR camera, I took all my pics. Now my husband takes most of the shots.

What size are you?
Currently - size 14 in skirts and dresses. A 12 or Large in shirts and blouses. A 10-12 in blazers.

Tell me about your makeup routine.
I'm a certified makeup artist. However, after a lot of trial and error, I have found a look that I like to stick to. I love a retro pin-up look and have finally nailed down a winged eyeliner on my droopy eyes (tip - don't pull eyelids taut if they are droopy). Here are my current favs:

  • MAC Prolong Wear concealer
  • MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Medium
  • Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 117
  • MAC Mylar - highlight
  • MAC Wedge, Soft Brown, & Malt - crease
  • Urban Decay Verve - lid
  • MAC Frankly Scarlet and Pink Swoon blushes
  • MAC, Besame Cherry Red, and NARS lipsticks - Girl About Town, Rebel, Schiap, Heat Wave, Dragon Girl
  • Stila Stay All Day eyeliner and NYC Liquid eyeliner
  • Maybelline mascara

Why did you start blogging?
When I was overweight, I couldn't find cute clothes. So I resorted to jeans, boots, and sweatshirts. During warmer months, I'd wear jeans, flip flops, and t-shirts. Once I started losing weight and feeling better about myself, I started looking at some fashion blogs to see what the current trends were. At the end of 2011, I had amassed quite a lot of new clothes in my wardrobe and wanted to take daily pics to keep from going back to my old way of dressing. I'm also a technical writer so blogging has given me the freedom to write creatively.

I also started this blog because I felt that there are a lot of wonderful, young fashion bloggers in the blogging world. I admire their style and ability to put together wonderful ensembles. However, I'm an older woman with a rounder figure who needs to be able to translate trends into pieces that work for my body and age. And I want to share what I come up with on a daily basis. I also, unabashedly, love to copy the younger bloggers' styles and make them my own.

Are any of your items gifted?
Nope. Unless you count my husband, mommy, or sister as the giver.

Will you follow my blog?
I'm so grateful for your comments and it's perfectly acceptable to leave your blog site in a comment (I do it!). I will look at your link but I can't make any promises that I will follow your blog. There are certain blogs that appeal to me, which I've included in my blog roll. I also won't follow blogs where the blogger is just trying to get members and leaves a comment, such as: "If you follow my blog, I'll follow yours." I just don't support blogging habits like this. I believe that if you come across a blog you love and want to see more of, then follow it.

Yes, I have them. Six and counting. And I got them late in life. I was 35 when I got all of my tats. There's the starburst on my right wrist. As for the feet and ankle tats: two astrological signs on my left ankle (I'm Capricorn), an infinity symbol on my right ankle that matches my husband's (we got it the first week we started dating - that's how sure we were of the longevity of our relationship), and two Kanji symbols on my left foot that translate to "eternal happiness." My husband and I also want to commemorate our wedding anniversary with additional tattoos.
