Dots dots dots everywhere. After having this shirt for years (you've seen it quite a few times on my blog), I finally got the color coordination right this time. It's blue, Niki, not black. Picked up a pair of $20 jeans a couple weeks ago during Macy's one-day special (although Macy's seems to have a one-day specials every weekend). They're another pair of jeans that can pass for pants at work. Gives my dry cleaning bill a break. And I paired them with the Prada oxfords that I've stalked for almost a year.

Was gonna pull the trigger on them last December at the Prada outlet in Orlando but $350 was just too much. I was randomly doing a search for them on eBay a couple months ago and the timing was perfect as these were listed brand new for $120 OBO. OBO? Are you kidding me? So I offered $100 as did 9 others. But I was first in line. Winning!

Car Accident

My poor Buick. Yesterday I was heading out to Total Wine and IKEA when out of nowhere, this woman decides to make a left turn across a very busy road onto a side road. And guess who was in her way? That's right. Yours truly. After I smashed up her POS (can you tell I'm livid?), I got out of the car and yelled "What the fu*k?!!!" Her reply, "Oh I didn't see you." How the hell do you not see another car coming right at you?

Other than a sore back, I'm fine and her and her husband, surprisingly as he was the passenger, are also ok. Here's what I'm pissed about, however. My car is now going to show up on Carfax as having been in an accident. That means when I go to trade it, the damn thing will be thousands less in trade-in value because no one wants a wrecked car. I've been purposefully keeping the miles low so that I could buy a luxury vehicle next year.

Then my genius friend suggested I ask the insurance adjuster for a loss in value. So I looked it up. It's called a "diminished value claim," which is an extra amount given in these exact situations where the other party is at fault.  So I talk to the adjuster today and can hopefully get my vehicle into the body shop in the next couple of days. I am very impressed with how my Buick Encore held up.

Slathered in Butter

Anyone bake the no knead bread in a cast iron Dutch oven? Goggle it if you haven't. Such an easy and impressive bread. I brought in a loaf to work today and the savages devoured it. I ended up wearing my gourmet European butter, which to be quite honest doesn't taste much different than my light Land O Lakes.

Hopefully the butter stains come out of my blouse (got this one off eBay since the color isn't available in the store). We shall see in the morning. This blouse fits a little different from the burgundy one I showed you a couple weeks ago. This one has a rougher texture and was very clingy. And although it's an XL like its much loved cousin, I noticed a bit of bra peekage through one of the buttons. I guess if the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter stains don't come out, it will all be a moot point.

Oh and as I was editing my pics using Visage Lab, it randomly generated this sea nymph.

"Like this effect?" Uh nooo!

The Non-Jean Jean

So although there is no Fashion Patrol at work, jeans are typically worn only on Fridays and I usually work from home Friday's so... I wear colored jeans that looks like pants! Problem solved. Yay!

I got these non-jeans from Macy's a couple weeks ago. They are Style &Co Curvy Skinny Leg jeans and I want more. So freggin comfortable. I've washed and dried them twice now and they retain their shape and color nicely. Unlike my J Crew palm tank that looked a year old after one toss in the washer and dryer. Ugh! But I did get it off eBay cheaper than on the JC site so there's that.

Death Jacket

I think I want to be buried in this jacket. Not necessarily wearing it, but maybe just folded up and cradling my little dead head. Mooorrbid! It's about a gazillion years old (or like 10) and not something that's very easy to match. But I still love it and will continue to wear it until it either no longer fits or my cats shred it.

I got the pants on clearance at Dillard's over the summer. They're Bryn Walker and I own a couple pairs of her pants. The other pair is a black asymmetrical knit. I equate her stuff to Eileen Fisher and possibly some less dowdy Chico finds. But I am of a certain age and elastic feels pretty darn good during the day.

It's All about the Pants

Oh how I wish these pants photographed better. They are so vibrant in the store but so dull on camera. And they stretched out during the day to diaper proportions but I don't care. I love them! Had a heck of a time figuring out what to pair with them, though. I don't really own a mustard or burnt orange top so I went with a navy Zara camisole and an organgy-pink sweater. And the weather was just perfect this morning - it's getting slightly cool here and most importantly, the humidity has fallen to 59%, which makes walking in the evenings possible and not unbearably sauna-like.

Best Blouse Ever!

I've been doing some damage at Loft lately. I just love fall clothes more than any other season and Loft is bringing their A game with lots of burgundy and jewel colors - my favorite!

I don't normally buy silk or thin polyester type blouses. With my large chest, I feel like I need thicker fabrics. Plus I never know how button downs with fit across my chest. I'm often left with gapping. But not with this utility blouse. Holy grail in fit, fabric, cut, and care. I hand washed this blouse in Woolite and hung to dry. Best part? No ironing!! So I ordered two more!
