Holiday Dress 2

Here is the dress that I wore to the holiday party with my employer.

Hubby took these few pics right as the rain was coming down. We haven't had rain in 4-6 weeks but it poured non-stop as soon as we got in the car to head across town. So unfortunately with the wind blowing and the rain drops starting, we could only take a few rather unflattering pics, which is too bad because this Jason Woo dress was so cute and fit the party atmosphere so well. And I have to digress about the shoes. These are from Zara and they were the most comfortable party shoes I have ever worn to an event. I'm not kidding. I'm not getting paid to state this. They were so awesome that last night, I ordered them in black!

  1. wow, this dress is amazing and you look stunning!! I love that you've match it with red shoes (which are fab)!

one question: in the previous post you are wearing a Zara dress. which size are you? because I am almost like you and cannot find ANYTHING is Zara as sizes are small (I think in Italy the max size Zara has it is around US10)

  2. Thank you! You are right. Zara sizes run small. The fish dress was an XL. There are only certain things I can wear from Zara. No skirts, no pants. Dresses have to be cut in an A-line shape. Shirts and blazers are always XL. Be careful with the blazers though. If they are slim cut, an XL is more like a 6 or 8 and I wear a US 10 in blazers. Tanks usually run large and typically Zara only offers a M, which fit (even over my DD chest). In shoes I'm a 38, which is their 7.5. Their shoes run big. Maybe they should call their store "little women with big feet." or maybe that's what Zara translates to. Lol

  3. Love the dress and the pop of red with the shoes is an exciting addition to your outfit.

My holiday party is tomorrow - no spouses, just colleagues. Years ago when spouses were invited, there was a drunken, naked in the pool, standing on a pool table incident and from that day forward - no spouses, no hard liquor.

Zara just opened in my local mall and I was sadly disappointed. 95% of the clothing was black and expensive. So I walk outta there and over to H&M - a much happier shopping experience.

    1. Yeah for the last four years, it was just company employees only and just a lunch. But we did get to leave for the rest of the day after we got our C note in our card. So that was nice. How I would love a little flexibility in my schedule. No vacation time for six months and after four months, it's really taking a toll on my attitude.

That's disappointing about Zara. I find with the one in Tampa that we are just now getting in winter coats, etc. They seem to be about two months behind the website selection.

  7. So lovely! Niki, would you mind sharing what size JW dress this is? I've been looking for the black one (on ebay) and haven't clicked "buy" because I was never sure what size to get. And then you posted the white one! Love the way you styled it, too. I'm also in my early 40's and had been afraid this dress might look a little young - not worried about that anymore, thank you!
