First Day at New Job

This is what I wore for my first day at my new job. My sister wanted to pick out my outfit and I thought she did a good job. I wanted something conservative until I found out about the dress code. Turns out it's business casual.

Please excuse the indoor shots. I didn't want to start sweating outside. But I think I had pretty decent light source to do some indoor shots until I get acclimated to the humidity. I know know why J's Everyday Fashion and some of the other Florida bloggers take indoor pics.

    1. Thank you, Carol. Should probably get used to that background. The humidity is crazy bad right now so indoor shots are just gonna have to do. We move into our apartment on Sept. 5 so we'll see what new backgrounds we'll have.

  2. I think this is a perfect first day at work look. Conservative enough but with some pops of color and pattern. Good luck with the new job!

  4. Super cute! Good luck at the new job!
BTW, I used to work for both a law firm and an accounting firm where we billed in 6 minute increments and if you just do the recording as you go (for example, each time you switch gears) it takes a lot less time than doing it all at once at the end of the day. It also makes you a little more productive since you get less distracted if the habit is to stop & record each time you change what you're doing. It takes a lot less time than you think to get used to.

    1. 6 minutes! Ai chihuahua!!! Today I entered the time as I went in Outlook as it was easier since I didn't have to find codes and actions and processes and cases... Then I took 30 minutes at the end of the day and updated my 'dashboard' with what I did. That seemed to work. Still irks me, though. I'm a believer in that we are adults and can be accountable for our time. I always meet my deliverables whether it takes 2 hours or 10 hours. I shouldn't have to account for every minute. Go to work, get your job done, meet your deliverables, and do what you need to do. Plus what I do is usually not directly related to client billing. But maybe it's different with this job. Thank you for the suggestion, Cindy.

    1. It came off as blue in the pics (indoor lighting) but it's purple. I have it in yellow, too, and really like it. Fits nice.

  6. I really like this ensemble. It may seem simple but the choice of colors and the lengths of each piece are perfection. And the print on the shoes is a great touch!
